“Know your enemy, know yourself, and victory was never in doubt, not in a hundred battles.” Sun Tzu, The Art of War
The first EBS Hackathon will take place on 9th December. In order to find out more information about what will actually be going on, we made an interview with the organizers:
1.Why is it so important to participate?
It is going to ensure an amazing experience in the strategic management field. Starting from a game planning to improve team building into a ten-hour Hackathon, which at the end will leave an incredible networking experience.
2.Who should come?
EBS students who are interested in Strategic Management field and would like to see the real business world facing with a real problem given by the company itself.
- What kind of activities can we expect?
The Hackathon is going to work in the following way: there will be 12 teams that have to develop a strategic plan in order to achieve a certain goal provided by the partner company. After the “marshmallow challenge” that will help to test the strengths of your team, the manager of the partner company will start introducing it and he’ll give one or more potential goals that the company expects to achieve in a given period of time. Then the teams must organize their time and their ideas and create a strategic plan to achieve a result. The teams can use every tool they need and then they must make a PowerPoint presentation. The plan will be presented at the end of the event in front of a jury composed by strategic management course professors and the representatives of the partner company, who will give the feedback to every team. The presentation can last max 8-10 minutes and the winner team will receive an award.
- What do you offer?
It will be a long and hard day of working, so we will also provide free coffee and snacks for all day long.
- How can we register to the event?
We have created a website (https://ebshack.wordpress.com/) where people can register the team (maximum 5 people each). It is very simple! You have just to write your e-mail and team members’ names. But you have to be quick! The registration is open only until 2nd of December.
It is also possible to get the updates on the event by following the Facebook page EBS H-ACK where we will give all the necessary information before the event.
